For long-distance couples

The long-distance relationship app that keeps you close

Distance makes the small things hard: knowing how their day is going, getting over a fight, feeling them nearby. HalfHeart gives you one shared heart, so you can feel each other from anywhere.

Free · No ads · Works wherever you both have internet

What changes

The hard parts of distance, made a little softer

HalfHeart doesn’t replace your calls and messages. It fills the gaps between them.

  • You can’t see their face

See how they feel at a glance

Your partner turns their half blue when they miss you, purple when they need some care, gold when they’re proud of you. One look, and you know.

  • Texts get read the wrong way

    Say hard things gently

A grey half says “I’m having a low day, and it’s not about you.” Pulling away says “Sam needs a little space”, never “Sam is angry at you”.

  • Time zones swallow the moment

Something waiting when they wake up

Your half of the heart is always there. Roses you send wait in a pail by their garden gate, fresh for 3 days, so nothing is missed while they sleep.

  • Fights feel bigger from far away

Space with an end in sight

Lock your half for 6, 12 or 24 hours, so you both know when you’ll be ready. Your partner can send a rose to make it sooner.

  • You miss the small daily things

    A tiny ritual, every day

A white rose blooms in your garden every day. Picking one and sending it takes two seconds, and it says “thinking of you” every time.

  • The wait between visits drags

    Count down together

Add your next visit as a plan or a trip and HalfHeart counts down to it, right next to the number of days you’ve been together.

Timeline showing 277 days together and a countdown to the next moment

A day with HalfHeart

Apart all day, close all day

  1. Morning

You wake up to Alex’s half glowing blue: “Alex misses you.” You pick today’s white rose and send it before your coffee.

  2. Afternoon

Rough meeting. You turn your half silver. Alex sees “Sam is having a low day. It’s not about you.” No awkward explaining needed.

  3. Evening

A call goes sideways. Instead of saying something you’ll regret, you pull your half to Hurt. It locks for 6 hours, so you both get room to breathe.

  4. Later

Alex sends a yellow rose. It takes 12 hours off your lock, so it opens. You put your half back, the heart pops together, and your timeline gains “Made up after 2 hours”.

  5. Night

You add “Alex visits” as a trip in December. The timeline starts counting down. Goodnight.

Long-distance questions

Does HalfHeart work if we live in different countries?

Yes. HalfHeart syncs over the internet, so your shared heart, roses and timeline work wherever you both are, as long as you both have a connection.

How is HalfHeart different from texting?

Texts get lost in a busy day or read the wrong way. Your half of the heart is always there: one look shows whether your partner is missing you, needs some care or is having a low day, without either of you having to find the words.

Can we count down to our next visit?

Yes. Add the visit to your timeline as a Plan or a Trip, and HalfHeart counts down to it. The timeline tab also counts your days together.

Is HalfHeart free?

Yes. HalfHeart is free, with no ads, no subscription and no in-app purchases.
