Android beta
Join in three quick steps
Do them in order, on your Android phone, with the Google account you use for Google Play.

Join the testers group
Join the LazyByte testers Google Group. This is what makes your Google account eligible for the beta.

Opt in to the beta
Once you’re in the group, open the testing page and tap Become a tester.

Install HalfHeart
Open HalfHeart on Google Play and install it like any other app.
Join the group first. If you opt in before joining the Google Group, Google Play says “You’re not eligible for this testing program”. Do step 1, then try again. The Google Play link only works once you’re a tester.

When you first open the app
- Sign up with Google, or with an email and password (we’ll send a verification email)
- Enter your name. Your partner will see this
- One of you taps Generate Code and shares the 6-character code
- The other taps I have a code, enters it and taps Connect. A code works once, for 24 hours
- That’s it: you now share one heart

How do I join the Android beta?
On your Android phone: first join the LazyByte testers Google Group (groups.google.com/g/lazybyte-testers), then opt in at play.google.com/apps/testing/com.lazybyte.halfheart, then install HalfHeart from Google Play. If you opt in before joining the group, Google Play says you’re not eligible, so do the steps in order. Your partner joins the same way.
Do both partners need the app?
Yes. Both of you need HalfHeart and your own account. You can sign up with Google or with an email and password.
How do we pair our phones?
One of you taps “Generate Code” and shares the 6-character code. The other enters it under “I have a code” and taps “Connect”. A code works once and for 24 hours.

Yes. HalfHeart is free, with no ads, no subscription and no in-app purchases.
